Chewing gum cannot completely eliminate bad breath.

Bad breath, medically known as halitosis, is very common. The causes range from simple lifestyle factors to more complex medical conditions.
Mouth is a warm, moist environment filled with bacteria. Without proper cleaning, these bacteria break down leftover food particles, producing foul-smelling sulfur compounds. Poor oral hygiene is the most common cause of bad breath.
Saliva is your mouth’s natural cleanser. It washes away food and bacteria. Constantly breathing through your mouth or some medications dry out the tissues. When you don’t produce enough saliva, bad breath also occur.
Persistent bad breath that doesn’t improve with better hygiene or drug discontinuance might signal an underlying health issue. Sinus infections can cause post-nasal drip, it feeds bacteria at the back of the throat. Tonsil stones are hardened bits of bacteria and debris, they get trapped in the tonsils and smell very foul. In addition, digestive system issues such as stomach infections, gastroesophageal reflux disease, kidney failure can also cause unpleasant odors to be exhaled from the mouth.
Don’t let bad breath ruin your image.

The first step to fighting bad breath is almost always the same: Brush twice a day, floss daily, scrape your tongue, drink plenty of wate.
See your dentist first if you have good oral hygiene but still have bad breath. They can check for gum disease, cavities, or dry mouth. This is the right solution for 90% of cases. But if your dentist has ruled out oral causes, you should see a doctor as soon as possible.
